Eric Clapton’s custom Hermès guitar case, designed specifically for him and his Martin 00028 EC signature acoustic guitar. Similar to Karl Lagerfeld’s custom LV iPod trunk, which I featured a few days ago (info here), the case was produced as part of the French fashion house’s Special Orders program which, for the right price, can produce everything from a handbag to a bespoke interior for a Rolls-Royce. The shell of the case is handmade of poplar wood from Nazareth, Pennsylvania and is covered in the world’s finest matte-finish crocodile skin, while the inside is lined with blue silk velvet. Information regarding the cost is currently unavailable, however, estimates seem to fall around $100,000.
