I didn’t think it could get any better than a Spike Jonze remake of possibly one of my favorite books of all time, Where the Wild Things Are, by Maurice Sendak. But now Medicom Toy has joined in on the fun to produce a limited set of 8 toys, featuring Max and several of the monsters from the story, all set to release sometime in October. Definitely going to have to surprise my niece with a few of these, she loves when I read her Where the Wild Things Are.

Takashi Murakami x Medicom Toy – “inochi” Figure

In correspondence with his new exhibition at his Kaikai Kiki Gallery in Tokyo, in which his “inochi” sculptures will be on display, Japanese artist Takashi Murakami teamed up with toy manufacturer Medicom to produce an exact replica of the famous, albeit somewhat bizarre, sculptures. The toys are limited to only 200 pieces in each color and will be approximately $1500. A limited amount will be available for purchase at the exhibit with no word yet on a general release date.

Pictures of the Kaws 4ft Companion in black have surfaced on the recently updated Original Fake website…Hopefully, this is a sign that the Brooklyn based artist is preparing to release the black companion in the near future. The grey 4ft Companion was released a few months ago for around $3000…I’ll try and keep yall posted…
