Referencing one of pop-cultures most iconic super villains, The Vader Project recruits the world’s leading artists to each re-appropriate Darth Vader’s conventional black helmet into an art piece of their own. Recently touching down in Japan, over 10 regional artists including Bounty Hunter, T9G, Secret Base, Usugrow and DEVILROBOTS were all in participation alongside the other 90-some designs from around the world. The exhibition is part of Japan’s 30th anniversary Star Wars Celebration Japan taking place at Makuhari-Messe in Chiba, just outside Tokyo which runs from July 19th to the 21st.

So I’m back home in Chicago and decided to check out the new Jeff Koons exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art. The exhibit was real cool, featuring works from several of Koons’ past series. I wish I had more pics but security was real tight up in there…so here are a couple pics off the museum’s site.
Anyone in the Chicago area should definitely check the exhibit out…it runs through the end of September. More info on Jeff Koons is available here…

Radiohead “House of Cards” Video

The video for “House of Cards” off the bands latest album was just released. No cameras or lights were used. Instead two technologies were used to capture 3D images: Geometric Informatics and Velodyne LIDAR. Geometric Informatics scanning systems produce structured light to capture 3D images at close proximity, while a Velodyne Lidar system that uses multiple lasers is used to capture large environments such as landscapes. In this video, 64 lasers rotating and shooting in a 360 degree radius 900 times per minute produced all the exterior scenes.
Yet again Radiohead proves that they are at the forefront of modern music, continually pushing the boundaries…I don’t know what else to say, just watch the video…
